The Toyota Land Cruiser India return has been confirmed by the automaker. Land Cruiser(Priced at ₹ 1.29 crore ex-showroom) and the Land Cruiser Prado(priced at ₹ 94.4 lakhs ex-showroom) was discontinued before the BS6 norms were made mandatory.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor(TKM) Senior Vice President Naveen Soni has revealed that the Land Cruiser brand will return to India “definitely in some form, shape or size”.
This simply means that Prado or the Land Cruiser will be launched in India. Both SUVs might also be launched.
Toyota was also caught testing the Land Cruiser Facelift. The facelift will be the end of the road for the current generation.
It is likely to get a redesigned grille with a single chrome slat in the place of multiple ones. The position of the fog lights will also change. The headlights are LED units and it will get a sunroof and new alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser is likely to get a new in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. A hybrid might also be on offer.
The SUV is likely to hit the road towards the end of this year globally while coming to India next year.
