Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 is a track-only hypercar. Only 40 of these will be produced.
It is developed by the Squadra Corse. It looks wild.
It is powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 churning out 818 BHP making it Lamborghini’s most powerful V12 till date. Peak torque is 835 Nm at 7000rpm. All the power is sent to rear wheels only in interest on reducing weight and complication. It uses a 6-speed gearbox to channel the power. The uses of new carbon fibre monocoque also eliminate the need for an internal roll cage, while increasing torsional rigidity and complying with FIA prototype safety rules. The result is a weight figure under 1400kg, it giving it an astonishing power-to-weight ratio of 1.6bhp/kg.
As the car is track-focused and not bounded by road-car regulations the vehicle has been fitted with some rather extreme aerodynamics components. Despite having a low drag coefficient, it achieves enormous downforce of 1200kg at 155mph.
Dual intakes are observed at the front that’s draw hot air away from the radiator and send cold air to roof scoop. At the rear, a large adjustable double-level rear wing is fitted above the kamm-style rear end, a design chosen to reduce drag.
Every buyer will become part of a program, allowing them to drive at some of the world’s most prestigious circuits. Owners will be able to store their cars in a new Sant’Agata Bolognese facility, with live webcams offering them a view of their car from a smartphone. An athletic training program will also be on offer.
The Essenza SCV12 is limited to just 40 units. Though the prices are not yet revealed, it likely is priced from £2m (approx Rs 19.42 crore, before taxes).
