• The MGA is a sports car that was produced by MG from 1955 to 1962. More than 1,00,000 units were marketed.

• The MGA is 3962mm in length, 1473mm in width, 1270mm in height and a 2388mm wheelbase.

• The styling is elegant. Its aerodynamic streamlined two-seat open-body design was sporty.

• It was a body-on-frame design and was powered by a modern B-series 1500cc 4-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox.

• Suspension was independent with coil springs and wishbones at the front and a rigid axle with semi-elliptic springs at the rear.

• The MGA body is steel, the door skins, trunk lid and hood are aluminium. The car was available with either wire-spoked or steel-disc road wheels.

• The MGA was replaced by the MGB.
